Last Sunday we had so much fun at Dikke Banden Race in Westerpark. I am doing this each year with Cycle Fun Productions because I love to volunteer as Marshal during the kid’s race. It’s so encouraging to see the little bike racers finishing the route and wearing the medals with such pride at the finish line. Also, I find this type of event a good opportunity to engage more with the local community, as I am meeting with Dutch and International Amsterdammers passing by, and always smiling and cheering the races.

As the weather in the Netherlands is changing in one hour at least 5 times, Sunday in Westerpark was the same: sunny, rainy, then sunny, again rain, but it did not matter as long as we had fun. The event ended with a nice Flower Bike parade with the kids and their parents.

@flowerbikeman came with his amazing flower bikes and we spent a good time together with the @thefairybike, she helped add some colorful flowers on Cherry Cruiser. At the event, we also met with @Roberto’s Ijs Bike and @jaraart.amsterdam, who brought her beautiful drawings for kids to color on the spot.
